Dentists have two types of filling we can use. The old amalgam/silver type and the newer white colored (composite). Most fillings we do are composite these days. They look better and the dentist doesn’t have to remove as much tooth structure compared to amalgam. This is because the composite fillings adhere to the tooth structure.

We most commonly use fillings for decay or broken teeth.
